Last Chance To See: The Iron Throne

Winter is coming, and so is your last chance to see the Iron Throne in Leicester Square

01/06/2021 - 11/10/2021

at Leicester Square.

The legendary Iron Throne became the tenth statue to join the Scenes in the Square sculpture trail in Leicester Square back in June of this year. Unveiled by one of the stars of the series, Isaac Hempstead-Wright who played Bran Stark in Game of Thrones. The hit HBO series Game of Thrones was broadcast across 207 countries gaining over 200 awards including Baftas, Emmys, and Golden Globes. The series also holds a total of six Guinness World Records including that of most “in-demand” TV show.

The statue depicts the Throne all family houses across Westeros were battling for across eight seasons of the iconic Game of Thrones series, set amongst other classic scenes and characters as part of the sculpture trail including Wonder Woman, Singin’ in the Rain and Batman.

Following the incredible success of the television franchise, the prequel to the story – House of the Dragon – is due to be released in 2022. Set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series will focus on the turbulent story of House Targaryen and is based on the George R.R. Martin book Fire & Blood.

The Iron Throne will remain as part of the Scenes in the Square sculpture trail until 11 October 2021.
