Pinter at the Pinter

Pinter at the Pinter theatre is hilarious set of short plays produced by the greatest playwright of the 20th Century, Harold Pinter.

PINTER THREE - Landscape / A Kind of Alaska / Monologue & other sketches

Pinter’s most hilarious comedy sketches, could only be performed by a legendary comedian. And who better? See comedy legend Lee Evans come out of retirement to participate in this limited run.

Introducing a selection of short plays, Landscape / Monologue / A Kind of Alaska and directed by Jamie Lloyd. The plays are spellbinding evocations of loneliness, isolation and the strange mists of time.

Landscape is a minimalist marvel. A woman is locked in a beautiful memory but her husband demands to be heard.

A Kind of Alaska, starring Tamsin Greig, sees Deborah awaken from a twenty-nine-year sleep and is suspended between the conscious and unconscious worlds.

Watch Lee Evans in his first performance since taking a well-deserved retirement, in the poignant Monologue and and a selection of Pinter’s most hilarious comedy sketches, including Apart From That, with Meera Syal.

Cast includes Keith Allen, Tom Edden, Lee Evans, Tamsin Greig, Meera Syal and Penelope Wilton.

PINTER FOUR - Moonlight / Night School

The brutality of family life and the subjectivity of memory are explored in the emotionally raw and richly funny Moonlight, directed by Olivier Award winner Lyndsey Turner as a ‘vivid, near delirious piece’ (Financial Times), in which the past haunts the dark, lonely recesses of a dying father’s bedroom.

An East End criminal returns home from prison to find his room has been occupied by a mysterious woman with a secret. Set in the sweaty nightclubs and claustrophobic boarding houses of 1960s London, this is a rare opportunity to see the brilliantly witty and vivid Night School, directed ‘with real style’ (Metro) by the inventive young director, Ed Stambollouian.

Cast includes Jessica Barden, Brid Brennan, Janie Dee, Abbie Finn, Robert Glenister, Isis Hainsworth, Peter Polycarpou, Dwane Walcott and Al Weaver.
