Harry Potter

Get your wands ready, as we’ve welcomed Harry Potter to the Scenes in the Square interactive film trail in the heart of Leicester Square.

at 5-6 Leicester Square, WC2H 7NA.

Calling all witches and wizards!

Harry Potter’s incredible legacy spans literature, film and theatre.

Now, the world’s most famous wizard has now been immortalised just metres away from where his very first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, premiered back in November 2001.

Joining the Scenes in the Square interactive film trail in the heart of Leicester Square, the statue depicts Harry Potter, played by Daniel Radcliffe, taking flight on his Nimbus 2000 broom in his debut Quidditch match. Radcliffe starred in all eight blockbuster films, culminating in Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows – Part 2 (2011).

Harry Potter, The Complete 8-Film Collection, is available from Warner Home Video.

Did you know?

Filmmakers faced a huge challenge when turning the wizarding sport of Quidditch into a real sport they could capture on film. Quidditch uniforms evolved throughout the film series, going from thick robes in the first two films to lighter, sportier robes with the players name and number on the back in the later films. In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the Quidditch players were given modern tracksuit-style clothes for training sessions and elbow, knee pads and helmets were added to their match gear to reflect the violent nature of the sport.
